Providers

The Government greatly values the contribution made to early education and childcare by the thousands of private, voluntary and independent (PVI) nurseries, playgroups and pre-schools.

A thriving private, voluntary and independent sector is vital to our ambitions for the provision of nursery education for all three- and four-year-olds, and we are determined that these sectors should continue to play a full part in the provision of early years education and childcare as these services are expanded.

We are also keen to maintain a thriving and diverse market in childcare, with private, voluntary and independent providers - who often have a strong track record in reaching and supporting socially excluded groups - working effectively together.

We will use this page to highlight work that has taken place between the Government and providers within the PVI sector and welcome user comments on what they would like to see on this site.

Please send your comments to Sahar Qasim.
